Wilton, What I do when that happens to me is to go to the "View" button next to the "Save" button which is after the "Attachments" note in the email. From there, you can see what the pic is, then decide to save it to your desktop or any place else. Don't know why the attachments only show up as a question mark in a blue square; It may be that the mail app. gets confused. See if this trick works for you, and let us know please.
