Make sure you get a DVD drive new enough to read all types of DVD's, since earlier versions came out before +R existed. It took me a long time to figure out why my Mac couldn't read +R and RW discs.
If you're only going to play commercial DVD's, this shouldn't be an issue, but it might come back to bite you if you ever need to read a homemade disc. By the way, were the CD drives fairly reliable? I'm asking because I bought a bunch of slot loading G3 iMacs recently for salvage, and all of them powered up with the "?" but none of them could boot from an OS 9 CD.
