I wondered about that (even though the fan worked fine right after the
first overheat), so I reopened it Tuesday night, checked the
connections, cleaned the pads and applied more paste, and very
carefully aligned all the wires when closing it up. Didn't take the
drive section out though. I suppose I should go through it again.

Which wires run the fan? Is there any way to test run the fan? Should
it run continuously, or only when overheated? How can I tell when it
is necessary to shut down to avoid frying it?
