Hmm, I had the same problem. I was going to get 2x 512mb to make 1gb,
but then couldnt find good ram, so I put an old 256mb with a working
512mb stick from an old computer to make 768mb.

I think compatible 512mb sticks with the G3 are hard to get =D.
