The 4.0 beta comes with an uninstaller that replaces 3.x. It said so  
in the readme file.

However, 'dissapointed' with the performance, I'd have to ask on  
what...4.0 in my experience smokes 3.0 performance-wise. The UI  
changed fairly dramatically, but after a few days of confusion, I was  
just as proficient as before.

That said, she should REALLY upgrade her iMac to 10.5, or prepare to  
upgrade to 10.6 soon. 10.5 is a major improvement in performance on  
Intel systems, and 10.6 is supposed to be better.
