I think I'm too much of a coward to try anything but the user  
accessible slot. Apple says it's max of 512mb per slot for a total of  
1gb. Since you upgraded yours to 2gb i assume you got a 1gb dimm to  
work in the user accessible slot? That would give me a jump from  
512mb to 1.25gb ram. Sounds like a lot, and with minimal effort.  
Would there be any compatibility issues with the 1gb dimm and leaving  
the other slot only 256mb? Thanks for your advice.
