The tray-loaders are a little more tricky to get into, but once you  
figure it out, it makes more sense then the slot-loaders. The RAM is  
laptop-style memory, and it sits on the processor daughtercard. Like  
others have said, the limit is probably 512.
As for the CD drive, that's a little more tricky. There's a board  
that's screwed onto the back to adapt it to the extended IDE that  
includes power. If you take this off, it's a pretty universal drive. I  
was able to put the drive from my G4 iBook into my Bondi. However,  
finding one that's compatable with the bezl on the front is harder. If  
you don't care that it looks really strange, then a slot-loading one  
will work. If you have a tray-loader that you can put the bezl on, and  
that the connector is the right orientation (I've had some that are  
upside-down) then you're set.
