Yea.  Firefox 3 requires Tiger or better.  (And Firefox 3.6 will be 
the last for Tiger.  So you're limited to Firefox 2 for Panther. 
Normal-distribution Firefox 2 is a slow pig.  But RPMozley has 
thoughtfully provided an *optimized* Firefox 2 build using a more 
up-to-date Gecko engine.  Give it a whirl.   Be sure to check out 
Camino and SeaMonkey too.

Adium is a great multi-protocol chat client (AIM, MSN, YIM, etc). 
The only catch will be that the protocols have changed so the older 
clients may no longer connect.
