The router is the same one that was provided by the internet provider,
and has 4 lan and a wifi unit inside.
The only change I made to this router when I moved in (I am staying
with a host family) is that I enabled wireless. the IP settings are
common for these AIO modem\router\wifi boxes that the companies give
out. I could try to change the IP settings on it to see if that does
anything else, and the network name\other stuff just to see if it
fixes the problem.
I have heard before about AppleTalk borking up stuff, but there is no
AppleTalk enabled on this machine.
I am tempted to see if static IP addresses would damage or fix this situation
