I have a G4 800mhz imac. I want to run OS 9 on it for a variety of reasons. Classic is ok but I would like to native boot.
The problem is I don't have a OS9 restore CD. I have a 9.2.2 install cd from a G4 power mac, but as many of you know it won't cut it. I have managed to install it using the classic environment in Tiger. It installs ok, but stalls while trying to boot. I have heard that the problem is the Mac OS Rom file in the System Folder. Its too old for the G4 PowerMac. The imac needs version 9.5.1. I found version 10 something in my Classic folder on OS X. Has anybody tried using this?
