If your router is crashing, then look to it for the cause.  Is the 
power stable?  Nothing lose?  Check it's log for errors.

hum.  I haven't seen it in a while, but.... Are you running a lot of 
p2p?  Those types of apps use a lot of NAT entries.  Could be that 
you're filling the router's NAT table, which then bogs or crashes it.
