Now, chancing upon a surplus auction or such and getting 5 pallet- loads of iMacs

I seem to have a difficult relationship with Murphy... Every time I find someone offering a pallet'o'Macs, it's either right after I donated my bank account to my local pharmacy, or the thing is 1000+ miles away...

I get the 1000 mile away bit....I've heard that out there is an El Dorado where university surplus sales have tons of Macs and Craigslist advertises G5 towers, cheap.

But I saw someone locally offering a Mac LC at a yard sale for $120 a couple years back. When I went past the sale again it was gone. Now they may have been talked down, but I doubt it was that much.

(Still mildly kicking myself over the day I let a $15 Apple //c system (only very slightly yellowed) slip through my fingers. Walked to the other side of the yard sale, thought about it some more, turned around to see someone else packing it into a box, and handing over the cash.)
