Oh, my!
Full disclosure: I have three Macs, two iMacs and one eMac. They are all
rescues, all for the same reason: no password. I hacked in and they run
very nicely now. I am giving them away.
They interested me because they are beautifully designed and have a
delightful simplicity.
I run Windows 7 ( two flavors) and Linux (Zenwalk; I've run thirty others
and use live CDs all the time). I chose windows 7 because for my purposes
its better than any Linux, and now I do most of my computing on it.
I've used a number of Mac OS systems. They are fine and no one could go
wrong buying a nice new Mac. But my money's already been spent on PCs, so
you know the rest.
Yes indeed, old Macs can and do run well on Linux!.
