If this is the wrong site for these kind of questions. Someone please
point me in the right direction.

I did not see a "Mac 4.5" in Mactracker so I am going to assume it is as you said a Power Mac. Technically this should go to either the G list or the Jaguar (10.2) list. Also when starting a new thread it is best to create a new topic rather than hijacking an existing topic. When a topic gets hijacked your message gets buried with all the messages relating to the original topic. You'll get better results with a new topic.

I have a PowerMac Machine Model, Mac 4.5 (version=2.1) G4 with OSX
10.2.8 (6R730 installed and 512 SDRAM in DIMM1/J20. The HD has 110
avail. Boot Rom 4.4.5f3. I am new to Mac and not really familar with
Mac computers and am still all thumbs on some operations. We have
downladed and installed all the latest updates.

We had to install a new HD. Everything seems to operate OK... except I
can't install the latest version of iTunes 10. After downloading and
trying to install, It says "install of iTunes" cannot be opened. The
Bill of Materials for this package was not found.

What does that mean? I have. Any help, ideas or recommendations about
how to install iTunes 10 is really appreciated from a novice such as me.

iTunes 10 will not support Jaguar (10.2), Panther (10.3), or Tiger (10.4). If you look around Apple's site, either under iTunes or under support you should find a download for a version that will run on 10.2.8.

Also I would suggest upgrading to Tiger if you can as it is more refined and supports more software. Apple no longer supports it but it is much better than Jaguar. Ever Panther would be a little bit better, Jaguar is about seven or eight years old now. Unfortunately Apple's OS' don't have the longevity of Microsoft's.
