What could possibly cause the iTunes application to launch itself three times in 4 or 5 minutes this afternoon, and do it again repeatedly at random intervals? What could cause it to launch itself when this iMac is in sleep? iTunes is opening with a screen for downloading music, importing CDs, and watching tutorials, all of which I do not care to do. Is Apple playing games with this machine?
Running OS X 10.6.4 on iMac 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with iTunes 10.0. Several weeks ago, this random launching also happened when I was running the latest version of iTunes 9. The only way I used iTunes 9 is to occasionally listen to Radio. I have not used iTunes 10. Other Apple Stuff in the House: Old style Apple TV, wife's MacBook, and wife's old style iPod Touch, all using WiFi on Apple Express 802.11g and syncing her iTunes. My iMac is set for WiFi on Time Capsule 802.11n, but AirPort is turned off in favor of Ethernet to the Time Capsule. Apple Express and Time Capsule are ethernetted to a Verizon FiOS box whose WiFi is turned off.
