I have a couple of eMacs that I have been using for a few years now.
There isn't a day goes by that I don't do something with PhotoShop. I
don't know what they're going for used these days, but the eMac is less
expensive than the iMac. And the 17" screen isn't too shabby, unless
you're doing really high-end video or graphics work.
As far as video transfer, the way I am doing it is off-Mac. I have a
VHS deck & a DVD recorder. I record onto re-writable discs, then rip the
discs on my eMac with Mac-The-Ripper. (freeware) This avoids the need
for a video capture card.
