Sounds like you might have a bad ground some where. Also have you checked your sound Preferences to make sure that the internal mic is selected ?

I have here a 20" 2 GHz Intel iMac in which the internal mic used to work, but now the only sound that comes in is a steady buzzing noise through the internal mic. I tried to plug in a headset mic either directly or through a USB iMic but no sound at all gets in through that. Anyone know what would cause this?

thanks,

Beverly
