Not a Cocoa issue per se. The bindings are handled at a lower level,
before the app gets control of the key strikes. The system provides a
basic set of shortcuts, then many apps provide their own - which
override the system's. In the case of Eudora, if you hack it a bit to
remove the binding of cmd-M to Check Mail, then cmd-M will then minimize
the window.
Thanks for pointing that out, I'm so used to Mail.app's shortcuts that I
don't use Eudora's and I haven't gotten around to changing them yet.
BTW I use the free utility RightZoom.app to control the behaviour of
the green gem. Often times 'maximizing' a window gives arbitrary results
That's because zooming is mostly overridden/controlled by the individual
apps. Drives me nutz that there's nothing consistant here!
