Hi

Yes, officially 10.4 tiger is your limit, but it is possible to run 10.5 on
the 800mhz. I don't have one, so I can only guess that you will find it to
be sluggish.

The additional 512mb of ram will certainly help or indeed make it possible,
if you decide to run leopard.

Regarding usb. Usb is not upgradable itself. for example, you cannot put a
usb 2 hub into a usb 1 and expect 2. It just doesn't work like that.

You would need a pci card with usb 2 connections, however, you cant use a
pci card on your emac.

The best you can do, unfortunately, is buy another emac, October 2003
onwards, with either the 1.0 or 1.25 GHz cpu.

Mactracker will detail which models come with usb2...

As far as upgrading your processor is concerned, I don't know. I do know
that apple restricts its hardware in current imacs, so that not just any cpu
can be used. Socket comparability alone is not a guarantee with apple
hardware.

If any were to work, it would most logically be the 1 GHz PowerPC G4 (7445)
cpu that was available at the same time as your 800MHz.

Hope this helps
