This is clearly a sing of a fialing logic board or possibly a failing cooling 
system.

No. The problems with the G5 iMac had to do with the Great Capacitor Plague, 
which was over before the intel iMacs came out.

There was an optional video Build to Order upgrade; however this is not an 
add-on product.

First I'd open it up.

Not as easy as the original G5 imacs, but not hard.

I'd make sure all the dust rhinoceroses are out of there, and that the fans 
turn.
