You shouldn't need any software unless this card is a non-apple card. I know this because back before I gave away my 800 MHz eMac with Leopard and a gig of ram (used a 1 GHz and Target Boot to install) I was able to take the airport from my clamshell iBook and install it inside the eMac with no problems at all to update from 10.5.6 (the disk I own) to 10.5.8.
