I've got an Aluminium Intel iMac that's been giving me trouble recently. When it powers on, the display comes on, darker on one side than the other, and then flickers off. Sometimes moving the computer can get it to flicker back on momentarily, but that usually doesn't work. The bottom half of the display went slightly dark awhile ago, so that leads me to believe that it's just a backlight issue, but when I opened up the computer to check, all the backlight cables were intact, connected, and not pinched. I guess it could still be a problem with the backlight itself, but I'm starting to wonder if the display might also be at fault here.
Anybody willing to shed some light (pun very much intended) on this situation?
