I find the easiest way is to turn the automatic backups off. Set it so the icon appears in the menu by checking "Show Time Machine status in menu bar." Then, whenever I'm done with the iMac for the day, I just run "Back Up Now" from the menu icon, maybe two or three times a week, or anytime I've saved a lot of work to the drive. Easy-peasy. -- You received this message because you are a member of the iMac Group, a group for those using Apple iMacs and eMacs.
