I have to replace the drive in my external drive which will be used for backup purposes. I currently have an 80 gig laCie which dates back to the emac g4 era... It is totally inadequate for use today! What is a little confusing to me is the variety of drives out there... ATA, IDE & SATA. I am not interested in SSD. I want this for home network backup, not time machine... Besides my 700 gig 24" imac, I also need to backup my wife's new 320 gig Macbook Pro.
