I need to partly retract my reference about heat... It seems that the
Macworld article pertained to older drives, and that today's
7200rpmers are not "too hot."   The other issue I am coming across is
that the g3 slot loader cannot use more than 128G (however it might be
possible to partition a large drive...?)
