I just replaced the power supply on my G5 iMac ALS a couple of weeks ago. I used Apple's DIY Manuals https://support.apple.com/manuals#imac then click on the DIY Manuals option. Scroll down the list until you find what you need. Note they don't go down to component repair level. BTW, I never heard of the white stripes you mention.
