It needs 'single density' so-dimms, meaning that a 256 mb on should have 16 
chips on it, not 8. That's the most common reason for only seeing half your 
ram. Double check in System profiler, to make sure memory's detected in both 
slots. If both slots show 128mb that's the problem.

If only one slot shows ram present, it's either not seated properly, or the ram 
or one slot is bad. Swap the So-Dimms around and see what happens.
