As the owner of several iMacs over quite some years, I am amused by your methodology for determining problematic models. Apple has so far sold over 40 different Intel iMac models, including 8 with 24" screens. Your generic search results are hardly meaningful. My current daily-use desktop Mac is a 2009 24" iMac. The screen size is perfect for my needs. I have had no problems whatsoever with it. Just before its AppleCare coverage expired back in July, I took it to our local Apple Store for a thorough checkup/tuneup.
