Hi All -

I managed to brick my Cisco/Linksys router by updating the firmware (making
sure everything connected to the internet was up to date seemed like a good
cold day project - NOT). After a vigorous argument with Linksys “support”
(rant omitted), I find myself needing a new router, so I have two questions:

1. Can anyone suggest a decent, reliable, preferably reasonably priced router
for home use? (one or two computer network)

2. If I’m only occasionally connecting a second computer, would I be better
off just connecting the satellite modem directly to my iMac and using internet
sharing when needed? Is a Mac behind a router any safer than a Mac connected
directly?

TIA

Bob
