Hi there: I am just now beginning to experiment with using FaceTime with the machine below; I bought a second-hand iSight camera not long ago to use with it, but am baffled by some things. So I'm sorry to ask what may well be obvious questions (the answers to which I have not yet found within the FT help documentation), but...well, here goes. FYI, in lieu of the proper FW port I am using a FireWire-to-Thunderbolt adapter to connect. When FT launches (automatically, once it detects the camera) I can see the camera’s output image with me in it, but there’s also a message: “No camera available. To use FaceTime, turn on the camera.” This makes no sense to me—what’s up? I'm apparently supposed to enter my Apple ID and password in order to activate FT but I cannot for the life of me find where to do so. Are there network configurations I need to set to use FT? I don't see any but maybe that's part of the issue. Am I right in remembering that the camera has a built-in microphone? My parents' iPad is what I tried calling; I heard the dialing/ringing sound but they show no indication that I tried contact them. I assume that will change once I get the above resolved...?
