After your response, I went back and tried to find the information I 
mentioned.

However, after rereading it, it looks like this if for a laptop, so perhaps 
there is no solution to this problem on an iMac 9,1 except for a 
"Brightness" app. 
Sorry for not reading carefully the first time.
But if anyone has other ideas, I would love to hear them.
