Jim,

average measures are not always sufficient and if you want e.g. the layer thickness as a function of length, you'd need more involved approaches...

Just my two cents. The common method to measure
layer thickness is to take the segmented area and divide
by the length to get the average thickness.

kind regards,

Hi folks

Here is an outline if some Fiji plugin development work we at infineon have
funding available for, for an external consultant or service provider.

If you are looking to pick up some project work, take a look at the
attachment:

If you can't see the attachment, email me and I can send it to you.

The project is for development general easy to use GUI for segmenting and
measuring thickness of different kinds of eg. electron microscopy cross
section images of material layers.

Greetings Dan,

I saw your post on the Image.sc forum and immediately thought about my
work regarding the tasks in question. Perhaps you have a look at this
set of macro recordable ImageJ-plugins:

Some examples are given here:

I won't be available as an "external consultant or service provider" but
if there are specific questions or case studies I'm please to assist.

In any case however, I assume that my work, that I won't sell, is cited
correctly.

Regards

Herbie
