Alot of the problems people are posting today can be solved by simply reading the ReadMe.html file that is included in the program. I've attached it to this email for those of you that might have missplaced it and to make it available easier.

Ron, keep up the good work, I was able to get the templates up adn running on the first try and other then a shitty connection to the server things are running great. Keep up the good work.

INSTALLATION

Backup your existing IMail/Web directory (typically 'C:\IMail\Web').
Stop your IMail web messaging service.
Delete the contents of your IMail/Web directory.
Copy all the files from the KillerWebMail directory (typically 'C:\IMail\KillerWebMail') to your IMail/Web directory.
Re-start the web messaging service. Using a browser, verify that the new templates are being served (don't worry about cosmetic issues yet).
Proceed to the configuration instructions below.
For domain-specific customizations, put just the customized files in that domain's web directory.

EDITING TIPS

Use a text editor (HomeSite or UltraEdit is ideal, but NotePad will work just fine) to edit the fields listed here. You can do this directly on the server, or via ftp. Changes you make to the templates will be immediately apparent when you refresh your browser. (Whatever you do, do NOT use a WYSIWIG HTML editor, like GoLive, Dreamweaver, or (gasp!) FrontPage. Those editors don't handle embedded IMail tags or includes, and can easily break the templates.)
When you make changes, change just one thing at a time, then TEST the templates with both IE and Netscape. The smallest of changes to HTML or Javascript can have dramatic and often negative effects on a web page.
When you edit the config_ files, be careful to not add any carriage returns or double quotes to the contents of the file, unless the directions explicitly say it's okay. Most of these config_ files get read by Javascript routines, and JS doesn't handle carriage returns or embedded quotes.
Do NOT delete any of the config_ files... IMail will complain if it can't find them.
At the first sign of a broken page, go find a fresh copy of the template involved (You did copy the files from the KillerWebMail directory, right?) and replace the broken one. Starting over is easier than finding and fixing a typo.
If you have trouble finding the file that has the content you want to change, first do a View Source on the page from a browser, and see if you can find a file name under the title tag. If that doesn't work, do an OS-level search in the Web directory for files containing a snippet of text you're seeing.

CONFIGURATION FILES
Work your way through these files, listed in alphabetical order, to configure your system. File names in RED must be configured right away... the others you can change later.

config_AdFuseletPath.cgi No changes necessary unless you're installing our AdFuselet Banner Rotator product (available soon). Leave the default content in comments.
config_AdFuseletSSLPath.cgi Same as above.
config_CommonAddrBook.cgi This is the domain-specific common address book file, and contains "Sales - [EMAIL PROTECTED],Support - [EMAIL PROTECTED]" by default. As you can see, it's a comma-delimited list of common email addresses and associated names. Separate the names from the addresses with " - " (that's a hyphen with a space on either side), and do NOT include any double quotes with the names. You can enter as many addresses as you desire, but they must all go on one line with NO carriage returns.
config_CommonAddrBookDivider.cgi This is simple the text of the divider line between a user's personal address book entries, and the common address book entries. Use whatever you want.
config_DefaultStylesheetSettings.cgi This contains all the default settings for the color scheme of your templates. It is pre-set with the Desert Sand color scheme, but you can change it if you're careful. The variables must ALL be present, and must all have a value (even if the value is "", or empty). Standard Javascript syntax should be followed. Color references may either be hex (like "#ccdd99") or named (like "blue"). Any graphic files references MUST be present in the web directory. Use the clearpixel.gif file when you DON'T want to display a background graphic.
config_DisableSearchFeature.cgi Set to 1, and the Search button won't be displayed. This is useful if you're seeing your CPU time eaten up by too many searches on big accounts. Leave it at 0 to display searches.
config_FaviconPath.cgi A "Favicon" is a tiny graphic that gets put in the user's Favorites menu when they bookmark a site that references it. Unfortunately, IMail's web messaging service won't serve a favicon.ico file properly, which is why we're referencing the favicon from our webserver at Humankind Systems. As this is such a small file, you can leave our server reference in place (assuming you like the graphic)... if you want to change it, go to www.favicon.com for info on how to create a favicon, then change the reference to point to your own favicon on your own real webserver.
config_FolderNameDeleted.cgi This text will replace all instances of the Deleted folder name for display purposes.
config_FolderNameDraft.cgi This text will replace all instances of the Draft folder name for display purposes.
config_FolderNameMain.cgi This text will replace all instances of the Main folder name for display purposes.
config_FolderNameSent.cgi This text will replace all instances of the Sent folder name for display purposes.
config_LabelButtonCompose.cgi Label for the Compose (new message) button in the top button bar.
config_LabelButtonHelp.cgi Label for the Help button in the top button bar.

config_LabelButtonSearch.cgi Label for the Compose Search button in the top button bar.

config_MailBoxSizeDisplay.cgi Set to 1, the account size limit graph will be displayed. Set to 0, the graph will be hidden.
config_MailBoxSizeLimitKB.cgi This is the domain-specific account size limit, in kilobytes. For example, a setting of 10000 is ten thousand kilobytes, or 10MB, a common size limit on free mail accounts. If you want to override this default for particular users, edit their "finger" info (the plan.ima file in their directory) to be the kilobyte size of just their account. You can edit this by going to the Plan tab in the IMail Admin console on the particular user.
config_MailBoxSizeLimitWarning.cgi This is the text warning for users who reach 90% of their account size limit. It will be displayed in a Javascript popup, and so must NOT contain carriage returns or double quotes. Use "\n" to force a carriage return in the message, so the JS popup doesn't go too wide.
config_MessageTrailer.cgi This is the domain-specific message that will be appended to all messages composed and sent via web-messaging. This trailer message should be kept brief, should be no more than about 72 characters wide (since these are plain-text messages being sent), and MUST NOT contain double quotes (carriage returns are okay). The message should be preceded be a few spaces, then a few carriage returns, to separate it from the body of the message a bit. As you can see from the example, you can use IMail tags in this file, like the useful . tag. To create a different message trailer for a different domain, put just the customized config_MessageTrailer.cgi file in that domain's web directory.
config_spellcheckURL.cgi This is the path to your SpellCheckedText.CAB file (included with KillerWebMail). You need to configure a real webserver (like IIS) to point to and serve this CAB file, because IMail's web messaging server cannot serve it properly. The contents of this config file will look something like "http://www.yourIISserver.com/path/". As you can see, you DO need a trailing slash on that path, and NO SPACES.
config_StyleSelections.cgi These are the My Style selections visible from the pull-down select menu at the top right of the screen. As you can see, they're just a series of OPTION tags, with carefully formatted values, that get parsed by Javascript and stored in a harmless cookie on the user's browser. We've got a web-based KillerWebMail Color Lab available that will help you design new color themes.
config_TopFramePreference.cgi Set it to "2" for the default, 2-panel top frame (a logo panel and a banner panel); set it to "1" for just the logo panel; or set it to "0" for no top panel (useful if you're framing the webmail templates with your own frame set).

MISCELLANEOUS CUSTOMIZATIONS
Customizations in RED should be done right away.

Custom Logos You'll find two .gif files in the template set named killerwebmail.com.gif and killerwebmail.com-large.gif. These are the default KillerWebMail logos. The first, smaller one is displayed in the logo frame at the top left of the frameset. The larger one (with the -large in the name) is displayed on the login page. If you want to use these logos, rename them to match YOUR domain's official host name. (For example, mail.yourdomain.com.gif and mail.yourdomain.com-large.gif.) If you want to use custom logos, just create gifs and name them appropriately... if you have many client domains, each can have their own set of logos, and all you have to manage is one set of templates.
Changes to the login page Changes to the LoginScreen.cgi file will affect both the first login and the failed login pages. The text at the bottom of the login page is the Welcome Message text, and can be edited either by a Host admin via web messaging, or by editing the mailwelc.txt file directly.
Changes to the banner frame You may customize the banner frame as much as you wish. The file is chgvac.html.
Changes to the frameset itself If you know what you're doing with JavaScript and HTML, changes to the frameset may be made by editing the menu.html.

TROUBLESHOOTING
