Dana, I installed Imail 10.01 on a Windows Server 2008 a little over a week ago.
I also received that error, but I investigated and found out you have to have
IIS 6.0 Management installed and enabled. There might be another step or 2. Oh,
It has to run in classic mode.John T

Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Installing on Windows Web Server 2008Hello Jason,
Sorry for the late response. Unfortunately I can't write up an exact copy of
the error, at the moment, since in order to get that error I would need to
attempt another install, and to do that I would need to deactivate the
currently operating install.
However, the basic content of the error was that it could not continue to
install Imail without a running instance of a web server. It then exits from
the install completely. This error occurs at the beginning of the install,
immediately after you activate the license.
I am planning to give it another go this Friday evening.
