I had this and I found it was because of an 'RTFM' (Read the
flippin manual) I was using the provided mail utility to
check the boxes were functioning because it was easy to
select the different mailboxes, it gave me all sorts of
intermittent problems, I later read NOT to use this on the
main server, could this be your problem, same symptoms ....
