I'd asked two questions over the past three days and haven't received any
replies. I really need some answers if anyone has any to give. (running
Imail 5.0)
First of all I need to know if it's possible to subscribe a third person to
a given mailing list via email? I have tried subscribe [EMAIL PROTECTED]
list_name and subscribe listname
[EMAIL PROTECTED] but get back NO Such List on both accounts. I've read through
the IMail manual and know about the alias routine, but I'm looking for a way
for list admins other than myself to subscribe people having problems
directly from email. From my perspective it appears that IMail List Serv
will intrepret any attempt to subscribe a third person to a list as yourself
trying to subscribe unless you use the alias method mentioned in the manual.
This isn't a good solution for me and I'm hoping that someone else out there
has a work around available.
Secondly, Is it possible to grant someone access to administer their mailing
list
through the listserv web interface (:8181/) but at the same time deny them
access to mail messaging (:8383/)? I have not been able to do this and was
wondering if anyone else had had any luck. The problem with the current set
up is that creating a mailing list for different people under the same
domain automatically gives them access to all lists under that domain in web
messaging, while they only have access to their assigned list through the
listserv interface. Seems to be a big security problem to me, or am I just
missing something? This one is VERY important and I need some answers about
this fast!
