Let's just say I have made some mistakes in the past by going after
a spammer my way and it ended up doing me more damage than him.
Now I just send out guys in black suits to deal with them. It ain't pretty.
<g>
It is usually more effective to correspond in a professional manner
to the spammers provider. I have almost a constant flow of e-mail
to several dialup providers like psi.net, uu.net, concentric.net, etc.
Most of them are fairly responsive and will LART lusers that SPAM.
Digex happens to be one that will deal with it promptly if enough
information is provided to indicate their client in-fact is the culprit.
Check spam.abuse.net for a list of providers that maintain good SPAM
policies. Oh yeh and be sure to look under the letter N. <g>
I would like to see some enhancements to the list server like this also.
Of the few security problems I have had on our server, most of them
have originated from the list server. I do believe I am the one that found
the problem with <> nul senders being able to post to a moderated list.
Unfortunate for me a spammer is the one that pointed it out to me.
Dusty
