It seems we are getting different views of what Steve needs! So,
clearing things out: if you (Steve) want to allow your users to receive
e-mail sent to either domain, make the secondary domain an alias of the
primary domain, and not a virtual domain. But if they are totally
independent, do as Dusty says and forget about the primary!

No, you should not have to do this. Point the MX records for the
virtual domain to your Imail box. Make sure the virtual domain
is set to use a different directory than the primary also.
Then the virtual domain users can log on to the server with
username%domain.com and retrieve their mail.
