Many web servers will allow you to set up IPless virtual domains.
IIS4 has this also now. It is usually just a matter of configuring
the virtual domain on the server then setting up an A record or
even a CNAME record to point it to the destination.

Sambar server makes this really easy with just a few entries
in a text file.

People will do anything these days to get some attention.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Off Topic -- DNS Question

Sorry for sending an off topic question, but I know that we have a lot of
experts here on the list...

I have seen that many sites offering free web sites are giving URLs like
yourname.theirdomain.com. I was curious how are they doing that; I am sure
that they may have thousands of sites like that, so how do they setup DNS,
and web server for this? Any ideas?
