The new user signup is pretty trivial if you
have worked with ASP before(if not I suggest you visit www.activeserverpages.com).
We use an external MS Access database to store
all of our user info. When a user hits our sign up page....we
naturally ask them a few questions to get the data we need to make the
user account. Once we have this info......we have the form submit
to an ASP script which adds a record to the IMail database with the
pertinent info.
We have a username and password box on our home
page to make the login process one step shorter. We also use a
VERY simple ASP script to process this as well. Below is a
flowchart(of sorts) as to how we use a form besides the IMail
form.
1. User fills out the username and password box
we provide
2. We check our database to make sure he/she
exists and verify their Password
3. Show any error messages if they
occur
4. If it's a valid user we redirect to an ASP
version of the IMail login form that uses hidden form inputs and the
data values they provided in step 1, and we use a Javascript to submit
the form(using an OnLoad event)
5. User arrives at their
inbox.
Sounds pretty simple right?

As far as making IMail work in a frame....just
make a frameset and load in the IMail login form(www.yourserver.com:8383).
Once it's in a frame.....it'll stay in there unless you specify a
different target. We also add in a few javascripts on a few pages
to ensure that they can not be loaded outside of the
frameset.

and how did you make Imail works in
frame??? Can you show me how the process and method from signing
up new user, login and inbox? What I want to do is from
our main homepage, which is not a frame, I will have a link <click
here to check email> and it will take them straight to the
inbox/main section without requiring them to login (since I already
did the authentication when the user goes to our main
homepage).

Hello:
I am hosting free email using Imail 5.0. I need a way
for the users to create their own accounts. For
example: you fill out a form providing your name , password
and all relevant info. Then you click "submit" and I pass
that information to Imail in order to create the
account.
Any ideas?
