Hi, first let me apologize in advance, I'm new to email administration...
I'm not an IMAIL user yet. I'm evaluating it as a replacement for
MSMail.
We are a fairly small company with about 100 users. We are very
centralized, and only allow internet access (via modem) to a few key people.
We had been using MS-Mail & Work Group Post Office for internal e-mail,
but I guess MS has abandoned it to sell Exchange Server.
To make a long story shorter, MSMail &WGPO was free and did all we really
needed; can I justify IMAIL based on what we may eventually do with it?
My initial testing looks very promising, but I'm lost among all the bells
and whistles.
Would any of them help me set up a sort of an internal/internet e-mail
gateway?
I was thinking that all mail to any external domain (anything but our single
internal one) would go to a queue and wait. Then about once per hour it
would establish a dial-up connection with the outside world, flush the
outbound queue and collect incoming messages.
Is that impossible?
Any input would be appreciated.
