    From a dial-up account (it should be from a different subnet, at least),
initiate a telnet session with the server on port 25, and issue the
following commands:

RCPT TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
MAIL FROM: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
DATA
<blank>
<blank>
Subject: Test
Test
.

    Type an ENTER at the end of each line above. If the server accepts the
e-mail, it's open!
