I had similar problem once. I remember it happened after I removed the IP address of
the "default" hostname. I didn't put the IP address back (I needed it elsewhere), I
removed all IMail software but keep all the mail root directory. I reinstalled and use
the proper IP as default. That fixed it. I hope this help.
