I've got mine beind a WinGate Proxy, the Imail server is physically on another box on 
a private IP address.  So the idea can work.  Did you look in the MS Proxy FAQ?  I 
found it on the MS Proxy newsgroup (search www.deja.com) as it mentions IMail.  I'll 
mail it to you in the AM if needed.
