I am currently using Serv-U FTP and it authenticates against MS SQL Server 7.0 (using Emerald's Database driver.)
I don't know if it supports users directly to SQL without creating the table the same way as Emerald does, but I know at least that works.  And if that works, then you could probably find someone (or even the company) that has written their own SQL Support ODBC dll for it.

   We have called the people that make Serv-u and they say that there program does not support user authentication using database (Access or SQL)    Do you have information that the company does not have.  Please let me know we have been looking for one that will use ODBC and can only find one and it is buggy.
