Way back when, when we switched our e-mail from dial-up services to
Internet e-mail, we lost some great functionality that I'd like to see if
there is a way to recapture. So I was wondering if anyone can think of a
clever way (or a program) that would provide any of the following
functionality for an administrator who runs an Imail server:
- Receive notifications (return receipt) for a specific message sent to
a user.
- Blast out a special "announcement" to a group of users and, after a
period of time, get a list of users who have not read the message, yet.
- Be able to send out a message to a group of users and then, after a
period of time, go out and "cancel" the message by deleting it from each
users' box that hasn't read it, yet. This is great for maintenance and other
notices that people don't need to be reading after-the-fact weeks on down
the road.
