Yeah, I have the ccMail machine's entry in my hosts file, and my relay for
addresses only has all of my class C licenses in them, however that setup still
won't forward the messages to my ccMail machine. Below is the section from the
IMail system log:
08:13 09:18 SMTPD(000304AA) HELO student.ccm.edu
08:13 09:18 SMTPD(000304AA) MAIL From:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

08:13 09:18 SMTP-(00000181) ERR student.ccm.edu not local tgillon from
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
My IMail system is student.ccm.edu and my ccMail system is ccm.edu. When the MX
record in my DNS is set to the IMail server name, messages don't get through to
ccMail from the IMail system, however when the MX record is set to the ccMail
server, messages from IMail get through, but not from outside of our system.
It seems as thought the IMail system is not consulting the hosts file to find
the ccMail entry. Does any service need to be restarted when a change is made
to the hosts file?

Since you have the host entry check the relay options and
make sure that the IP of the CC Mail machine is allowed.
Your naming scheme appears to be okay also.
Make sure your host entry looks similar to this:
10.0.0.1 ccm.edu

Subject: [IMail Forum] Using IMail Server as a ccMail Gateway
Hi folks. New to the list, so please forgive if this have been discussed
recently.
Is anyone out there using their IMail server as a gateway for a ccMail
system? I can't get it to work, after following the instructions in the manual.
I've added the ccMail SMTP server's name and IP address in the hosts file on my
IMail server, but I think the problem lies in my naming scheme. My IMail server
handles e-mail for the following domains: student.ccm.edu, adjunct.ccm.edu, and
cobra.ccm.edu. I want this server to send anything it receives for [EMAIL PROTECTED]
to the ccMail SMTP server, but I get an error in the IMail log stating user not
local. Any ideas, or is this setup not going to work because of my naming
scheme?
