I'm trying to configure IMail 5 for SMTP services only so we can take
advantage of it's DSN feature without having to migrate all our Post.Office
accounts over at this time. It appears IMail SMTP server needs to have a
userID setup for each person using the SMTP server to relay mail through. I
keep getting prompted to enter the password for
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
My IMail SMTP Security Settings are as follows:
Relay mail for anyone
Disable SMTP "VRFY" command
Disable SMTP "AUTH" reporting
Why is it prompting for a password just to "send" the email? It's this sort
of thing that frustrates me most about IMail and the main reason we haven't
converted over from Post.Office.
So, I've added a test user account and now I can send and receive email
through IMail 5, BUT the DSN is not working. I tested sending a message
from the IMail test account via Netscape Messenger with a DSN receipt
request. I sent the email to my POP3 account on our Post.Office server. I
received the email in my Post.Office account, but I never received
confirmation from IMail in my IMail test mailbox.
Has anyone tested this feature of IMail? We have some clients which need
this feature ASAP.
Thanks for any input you can give to help me figure this out.
