Hello,

I am moving my web site and domain e-mail to a new host that is using
IMail v5. I am having the most difficult time getting them to route
_all_ of my domain e-mail to a second IP address (which is an Exchange
server in my facility). This seems like a straightforward
request;Ipswitch has a related article
(http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19980116-DM01.htm) which explains the
process. But the techs at my host just can't get it... or perhaps I'm
doing something wrong.

Here's how I see it:

1. The domain is routing properly through my new host (ex: abc.com); I
can hit the web site and send e-mail.

2. The IMail account is mail.abc.com

3. I want all mail sent to abc.com to be forwarded to a server called
123.com, which has IP address 111.22.33.44.

4. My Host edits the "hosts" file on their server to include the DNS
routing information for 123.com, 111.22.33.44.

5. Through my browser I connect to the Web Administration interface
(abc.com:8383). I log into IMail v5 and configure mail forwarding so all
mail goes to 123.com.

6. The host's "hosts" file gets recycled at a regular time.

7. From this point forward, any mail sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] should
automatically forward to 123.com, my internal Exchange server.

8. My Exchange server will then see "johndoe" and route the msg to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

In theory this all sounds good to me, but I'm obviously missing out on
something. Domain e-mail forwarding to an IP address seems like a
simple task... can anyone shed some light, and perhaps give me a
play-by-play on how this works?

Thanks in advance!
