Is CFMail set to send all outgoing mail to Imail-for-relay (highly
recommend!) or just to send the mail directly to the addressee?

ResendMail tries to unbreak CFmail's MTA which apparently tries once to
deliver a msg and then abandons it in the queue. So many people have
had/are having so many pb's with CFMail, it appears essentially useless
since it's retry tactic is so lame.

If you decide to stay with CFMail's MTA, I'd sure not depend on it to
deliver the mail to the destination. Try this:
1. set CFmail to send all outgoing mail to Imail.
(I don't know whether CFMail has such a parameter, if it doesn't, get
www.dimac.net's free Jmail MTA or serverobject's ASPmail plus Marcelo
Frutig's tag to talk to ASPMail)
2. Setup Imail SMTP Security so that it will relay mail from your CFMail
server.
3. Then set the SMTP retry limit and period on Imail
Since we've begun to back and relay for some clients, I've been watching
our Imail log. There are times that 5 or 10 messages will get held up on
delivery due to Imail really not being able to contact the destination smtp
server, but the msgs get out eventually, thanks to Imail's persistance, the
very virtue missing in CFMail.
